Can I see through it? Most people say the view is better with the film. Why? Since glare is reduced or eliminated, it lessens squinting and eye discomfort. Enjoy the natural outdoor colors and textures… it’s like adding Polarized sunglasses to your windows. Several performance levels are available to suit your needs. You’ll enjoy your view without distortion in full, living color! With some films the view can appear mirrored from the outside, especially with our reflective films. At night this can reverse. Our latest premium film, containing Gold, offers the lowest reflectivity yet.
How do I clean it? Our films are strong and durable, tested for decades. Our exclusive Duragard clear coating allows you to clean without concern. Most common household products are fine, even squeegees!
I’ve heard my window warranty may be affected, true? If applying our film affects your window warranty in any way, our warranty will step in and cover, not only the film for life, but also fracture for 5 years, and your IG seal for 3 years. You may purchase our optional warranty to extend coverage to match your existing warranty, even lifetime. You must have an existing window warranty in place at the time of installation. Without it, film and installation are still covered.
What if the wind blows out my window? Our films will contain shattered glass. If for any reason the window glass comes out or is broken, injuries can be avoided. This safety feature adds security to your home!
Will tint affect my plants? No, there is no evidence plants are affected in any way by applying window film. We actually think they like it!
Are there any health effects? Yes, good ones! Sun & Skin News, Volume 21 in 2004 from the Skin Cancer Foundation says that the sun’s ultraviolet rays do penetrate glass. It can exacerbate skin damage you’ve sustained outdoors, and can even burn your skin. Long time drivers have rougher, more pigmented skin with greater solar damage on their diver’s side, (Albert Kligman, MD, PhD, emeritus professor of dermatology, University of Pennsylvania Medical School, Philadelphia). Blocking UV rays helps prevent not only sunburn, but also cumulatively accelerated skin aging and decreases skin cancer risks. The films can be life savers for people with diseases involving dangerous photosensitivity, such as xeroderma pigmentosum and lupus. The combination of glare prevention and UV absorption also protects the eyes. “Chronic sun exposure is linked to cataracts and macular degeneration,” says New Jersey ophthalmologist Douglas Liva, MD. “Window film helps prevent these conditions and other UV-related eye diseases, including ocular melanomas.” Diane Berson, MD, assistant professor of dermatology at Weill Medical College of Cornell University says, “Most of us have always felt safe from the sun when we’re inside, but we weren’t as safe as we thought. The window film provides protection where we never knew we needed it.”
